Hi Families!

We wanted to make sure you are aware of the following:

•  Our World of Nations field trip has been confirmed for Friday, May 1st.
• Our Diamond D Ranch field trip is Thursday, May 14th.  Cost is $15 per student and $10 per chaperone and is due by May 1st.
• Field Day and Cultural Arts day will be combined this year in to a two day event on April 9th and 10th.

•    La excursión a “Diamond D Ranch” está confirmada para el jueves, 14 de mayo. El costo es $15 por estudiante y $10 por adulto. Necesitamos colectar el dinero antes del 1 de mayo.
•    “Field Day” y el día de la cultura será el 9 y 10 de abril en la escuela de Beauclerc.

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

            We would like to welcome you to 3^rd Grade Dual Language for the 2014/2015 school year.  This year your child will have three teachers.  Sra. Tygart will be your child’s Spanish teacher, and Mrs. Will and Mrs. Hosch will be your child’s English teachers.   All three of us are equally your child’s teachers and you should keep all of us equally informed throughout the school year.  We will be switching homerooms on a regular basis to provide your child equal exposure to both English and Spanish.  Please note that the Dual Language 3^rd grade supply list differs from the general 3^rd grade supply list.  We have developed the Dual Language supply list over the course of 4 school years and providing these materials for your child by the end of the 1^st week of school will help ensure his or her success during this academic year.  We will explain all the workings of the classroom and the expectations for third grade at the Dual Language Open House on Thursday, September 4^th at 6:00pm.

            We are very excited to be your child’s third grade teachers and look forward to a great year partnering with you to work for your child’s success!

     ¡Bienvenidos al 3er Grado del Programa de Dos Idiomas del año escolar 2014-2015! Este año su hijo/a tendrá tres profesoras.  La Sra. Tygart será la profesora de español y las señoras Will y Hosch serán las profesoras de inglés. Las tres profesoras compartirán la responsabilidad de enseñar a su hijo/a y le pedimos a ustedes los padres que nos mantengan informadas sobre su hijo/a. Los estudiantes cambiarán de salones de clase con regularidad para recibir el mismo tiempo de instrucción en inglés y en español.  Por favor tenga en cuenta que la lista de útiles escolares de 3er grado en el Programa de Dos Idiomas es diferente a  la lista de útiles escolares del tercer grado en general.    La instrucción académica empezará el primer día de escuela. Por lo tanto, es muy importante que su hijo/a tenga los útiles escolares necesarios antes de terminar la primera semana de escuela. Nosotras le explicaremos todas las rutinas de la clase y las expectativas para el tercer grado durante la reunión de padres (Open House) el jueves, 4 de septiembre a las 6:00 pm.
     Estamos muy contentas de ser las profesoras de tercer grado de su hijo/a y de poder colaborar con los padres para lograr realizar un año de gran éxito académico.
